“The Ducks are Flying 2013” Tournament: the Cup Remained in Don!
On the 1st of November a traditional Golf Tournament “The Ducks are Flying” for media representatives took place in Golf & Country Club “Don”. This championship has been held under the aegis of the Megapolis Group Holding Company for already 6 years and this time it was held on the occasion of the company’s 20th anniversary. The leading mass media representatives of the Don region gathered on the golf course to fight for the Cup and just to have fun and enjoy themselves in a good company.
In other words, there was everything for a wonderful pastime: significant occasion, a good company of dear old friends, sunny weather and the heat of golf battles. It must be said that our journalists worked really hard to get ready for the tournament! First there was a golf clinic by Gavin Campbell, PGA AA golf professional. Then came the first practice with first shots, first ups and downs. And finally the media golf beginners came out on the course with clubs in hand and strong will to win in their hearts. Swing … shot … one more swing – and the hole is conquered! Everybody had fun on the course but only one player was to win. This year the sports luck was with Dmitriy Marokin (Don Media Agency) – who is now four-time Tournament Champion! Evgeniy Rakul (Vedomosti – South of Russia Newspaper) became the runner-up, and Oleg Kitaev (Gorodskoy Reporter News Site) came third. After the end of the Championship the competitors became a big friendly team again. And that was because our Tournament is not about victory, it’s about getting together in a great company! After making a lap of honour above the golfers, the ducks flew away for the winter season, but they promised to be back again in our megapolis! See you soon!
